Caam Fund mainly invests in shares of international companies. The assets are composed of shares of companies that are selected depending on their financial and environmental characteristics. A small portion of the fund’s assets is invested in interest-bearing products among the group’s SRI bond funds.
The criteria used for managing the fund's assets are those offered by the extra-financial survey agency Innovest through “Ecovalue 21™”, its rating tool. The agency provides the promoter with a database where companies are ranked according to their capability to combine competitiveness with the management of environmental risks and related impact. Combining the companies’ environmental approach with their financial performance allows to determine a range of eligible companies. (Source: Novethic)

The fund invests half of its assets in highly capitalised companies, 45% in medium-capitalisation entities and the remainder in small businesses.
Entities are not selected on the basis of the revenue generated by operations regarded as sustainable, there are two options:
- “Eco-efficient” companies (approx. 75% of assets under management) that, whatever the field they operate in (food processing, oil), stand out from other companies in the same industries by the proactive strategies they use to cope with given environmental challenges. As such, they supposedly have a higher competitive potential and financial performance.
- “eco-innovative” companies (approx. 25% of assets under management), small and medium-sized businesses for the most part, that offer solutions in terms of energy, water and waste management.
These two kinds of companies are also selected on the basis of ESG criteria for each industry, and all of them must at least observe the principles of the UN’s Global Compact Initiative. (Source: Novethic)
